CSR in Action 1,000 Trees for Kajiado West

On 5th September 2025, under the golden skies of Kajiado West, Miamu Properties joined hands with Azaavi Foods, Elevate Ideas, and our main sponsor CKL Group Africa to bring a dream to life. Oloosho-Oibor Primary School and Kajiado West TVET opened their gates, and KCB Bank Kiserian Branch cheered us on. What began as a simple tree-planting exercise became a powerful testament to community, purpose, and the promise we hold for future generations.

The energy was electric as 1,000 saplings—290 fruit trees and 710 indigenous species—found new homes in classroom courtyards and the Girls Rescue Centre. Volunteers shaped soil and dug roots, while two 3,000-litre water tanks sparkled with possibility. From the first shovel in the earth to the last drop of water nourishing our seedlings, every moment held purpose.

Pupils and trainees laughed and raced one another, each clutching a seedling they vowed to protect. Senior Chief Amos Ole Moniyo and Assistant Chief Joseph Pannin stood among us, their support echoing the community’s deep commitment. Media cameras rolled live on our Facebook page, sharing sparks of hope far beyond Kajiado West.

Our Why

  • To champion environmental conservation and help communities adapt to climate change
  • To transform school compounds into living classrooms of sustainability
  • To empower learners with hands-on stewardship and pride in their land
  • To strengthen bonds between corporates, institutions, and the local community

Gratitude to Our Champions

We extend heartfelt thanks to:

  • Mr. Supeyo Joseph and Dr. Jane, the Principals who championed green learning
  • Mr. Samuel of CKL Group Africa, whose sponsorship made every tree possible
  • Joan Miano, Pauline Okubasu, Doreen Hongo, Hillary Cheruiyot, and Immanuel Kiama for their tireless leadership
  • KCB Bank Kiserian Branch for logistical support
  • Our planning committee, volunteers, and every smiling face that made this day unforgettable

Resolutions & Way Forward

Together, we pledged to nurture these young forests, monitor their growth, and keep learners engaged through environmental clubs. Our commitment extends beyond planting: we will deepen partnerships, expand tree-care programs, and ensure every sapling becomes a towering symbol of resilience.

Conclusion

The roots of this initiative run deep—beneath the soil and into the hearts of every child, teacher, and partner involved. By planting 1,000 trees, donating water tanks, and building a network of environmental stewards, we have sown more than seedlings. We have planted hope.

As these trees grow, so will our collective legacy. Here’s to watching green canopies spread, to the laughter of future Climate Ambassadors, and to a community forever transformed by the simple act of planting a tree.
